Igor Ignacek in the Management Board of the Local Foundation

Igor Ignacek, an engineer who has been involved in the environment of small and medium-sized telecommunications operators for years, joined the Management Board of the Local Foundation. Technology is his professional world, but he has long used his knowledge also where it can simply help someone.

Igor Ignacek has been associated with computer science practically since forever. For six years, it has also been actively working for the environment of telecommunications operators. It supports projects created and developed by local miŚOTs, primarily with its knowledge of computer systems and networks.

These skills are also useful in the work of the Lokalni Foundation. Access to equipment, the internet, and technical knowledge can today determine opportunities for learning, working, and connecting with the world. Therefore, combating digital exclusion and supporting technological education are a natural part of the foundation's activities.

The Lokalni Foundation was established precisely for this purpose. It draws on the experience and local roots of the MiŚOTs, which know their towns and the people living around them well. This allows them to identify where support is truly needed. Sometimes this means financing driving lessons for a child in an orphanage, sometimes donating laptops to a center for autistic children, and other times quickly organizing assistance for residents of flood-affected areas.

Igor has been working with the Lokalni Foundation for a long time, sharing his experience on various projects. Joining the Board is, above all, a formal confirmation of his commitment, which has been ongoing for years.

Scientific skills aren't Igor's only real strength, however. He also possesses a strong humanities background and a keen interest in philosophical and social issues. This combination allows him to view aid projects not only through the lens of equipment and logistics, but above all through the lens of the people being helped. After hours, he actively enjoys sports: he can be found on the pitch, cycling, rollerblading, ice skating, and skiing.
