MiŚOT Data Center already in operation

Although the MiŚOT Data Center was not immediately built, the following months of work on the construction site in the Jaworzno bring visible results. Budvisation of a data center owned by small and medium-sized telecommunications operators will continue for years to come, but individual components are being launched independently. Some are already in operation. For the time being, they are testing.

As we reported, by April of this year Most MDC projects turned into existing buildings. Time for another construction report.

The next step after the buildings were built was the construction of security and target road infrastructure, including a parking bay for the center's customers. The change is visible.

As announced in the spring, the MISOT Data Center was on the final straight to a production launch, thanks to its modular structure. The first customers were expected to use the infrastructure later this year.

- We have kept this commitment - states Daniel Piecuch, president of Project MDC. – The first devices in Jaworzno have been launched. They are now being used by EPIX, NETIA, DGNET and Project MDF, which is helping local operators build infrastructure with funds from FERC (European Funds for Digital Development - editor's note). I estimate that by the end of the year the occupancy of the server rooms will reach 25 percent of the.

There have also been the first orders from external customers and the corresponding contracts have been signed.

- The first server room in operation has 10 45U 1200×800 cabinets, and we know that the space available in them will quickly run out, so we are already preparing another one. Twice as big, based on containers. There will be 20 cabinets in it. We are waiting for the delivery of AKAMAI servers which will be launched later this year at the EPIX node in Jaworzno - Daniel Piecuch says.

Construction continues

The following construction work has also been done in recent months:

- acceptance was made (from TAURON) of the MV connection, so the MDC is already operating on the target power supply;

- Two 100G fiber connections to 4DC via two independent routes by two independent network operators have been established, and two more are in the pipeline;

- landscaping around the building was carried out, including an access road in accordance with the PZT design for the first stage of construction;

- Parking bays have been constructed to provide parking spaces for visitors;

- The target fencing of the site has been completed (installation of the perimeter system and barbed wire remains to be done);

- The lighting of the MDC area was taken care of;

- A CCTV system covering the entire DC area and a KD system have been expanded;

- The first stage of construction has been reported and accepted by Sanitary and Fire Departments;

- acceptance has been reported to the PINB;

- A site has been prepared for another 10 containers in which more server rooms, energy storage and elements of the central cooling system for the entire DC will be built;

- The first containers in the DC area will appear in late December/early January. Space for them is already prepared.
